“I don't design clothes, I design dreams.”

Founding members

Le Grand Costumier’s founding members are individuals and organizations that were actively involved in the project from the very start:

Marie Collin, then General Manager of the l'Association québécoise de la production médiatique (AQPM)
Jean-Marc Diorio, Costumer at Radio-Canada (retired)
Jacques Gauthier, Producer Representative KOTV, Salvail & CO et Groupe Fair-Play
Anne-Marie Jean, General Manager, Culture Montréal
Hélène Nadeau, directrice générale, Conseil québécois du théâtre (CQT)
Marc Picard, General Manager, Caisse d’économie solidaire Desjardins
Luc Rabouin, then General Manager, CDEC Centre-Sud/Plateau-Mont-Royal

Founding partners

The founding partners are the initial allies, those who took the risk of believing in the project by providing decisive support for the organization’s pre-startup:

Radio-Canada donated its entire collection of costumes and accessories, and all the costume workshop equipment, and paid to have everything moved.
The Ville de Montréal in addition to helping Le Grand Costumier with its move, paid to prepare the space and offered it to the organization for a token rent.
The Secrétariat à la région métropolitaine provided seed funding.
The Ministère de la Culture et des Communications paid to digitize the collection and create a digital platform.
The CDEC provided seed funding, advice, support and logistics.
Desjardins (Caisse d’économie solidaire, Caisse de la Culture, Caisse du Plateau-Mont-Royal et Caisse du Quartier-Latin) paid for the market study and business plan.
